Thoughtful Hands was a non-profit I founded in Dallas, TX in 2016. The mission of the organization was to promote artists and independent designers that worked with sustainable materials and eco-friendly processes. In addition to curating exhibits, the organization conducted community outreach by participating in demonstrations for children at festivals and public events.

I consider the fledgling non-profit formation and legal process, as well as the community engagement, an important part of my creative practice at the time.

When my career and employment focus changed in 2019, there wasn’t a successor willing to take on the upkeep of the non-profit. Sadly, it had to be disbanded. Even though it was short-lived, I believe everyone should work for a start-up at least once in their lives. The learning experience was exceptional.
